Located in the Department of Community Mental Health – White Plains:Under general supervision, an incumbent of this class is responsible for the performance of a variety of para-professional duties designed to assist in the identification and screening of eligible clients for the Treatment Alternative for Safer Communities (TASC) Program. This position is responsible for referring clients into treatment, transporting them to treatment interviews, monitoring their progress in treatment, and reporting client's progress to the Court. This level is distinguished from Case Manager I (TASC) by the level and complexity of the caseload and by the additional years of experience required at the higher level. This position may involve both day and evening assignments throughout Westchester County. Does related work as required.

- A Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work, sociology, counseling, or closely related field and either (a) one year of experience where a primary function of the position was in providing counseling to individuals with substance abuse or mental health issues†; or (b) one year of experience in casework or social work for individuals with substance abuse or mental health issues.

- Satisfactory completion of 30 credits towards a Master’s Degree in the health or human services field may be substituted for the one year of required experience.
- Definition
- Casework is defined as maintaining a caseload of clients which includes making assessments and referrals for services, coordinating those services and conducting follow up visits to continually reassess client needs.

Located in the Department of Social Services - Various Locations:Under the general supervision of a higher level management position, an incumbent of this class is responsible for administrative control and implementation of various housing/homeless service programs. This position provides support services to this program and functions as a liaison between housing/homeless program staff, other Departmental offices, various institutions, building code enforcement offices, landlords, client advocates, and community groups. Responsibilities involve developing policies and procedures and reviewing agency housing/homeless policies and procedures on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local mandates as well as to maintain program services at acceptable levels. Additionally, an incumbent maintains oversight of contractual agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory mandates and to ensure that services provided are in keeping with the goals and objectives of the department. Located in the Department of Public Works and Transportation – Various Locations:Under general supervision, incumbents of this class independently perform a wide variety of skilled labor, semi-skilled trades and repair activities in either grounds or building maintenance, or at other County facilities. An incumbent may work in a broad range of trades or may be assigned primarily to one trade, depending on departmental needs and employee skills. Workers may assist higher-level, skilled trades’ workers, or work alone in the more routine aspects of a skilled trade. Some incumbents will function as a “building superintendent” by performing routine maintenance and repair independently, and calling in skilled trades’ workers for more complex repairs. Typical work situations involve using initiative and decision-making skills in performing assignments that are given verbally, in writing and for those that are self-prioritized. Incumbents are expected to exercise judgment by independently making a variety work decisions, such as deciding which projects should be performed by higher-level maintenance personnel. This class differs from Maintenance Worker (Utility) in that incumbents independently perform work involving semi-skilled trades as well as skilled labor, and work usually involves a greater level of independence in choice of method and priority. Depending on assignment, incumbents may function as an apprentice to journeyman-level trades workers. Although supervision is not a responsibility of this class, incumbents may provide oversight and guidance to lower-level maintenance employees. Does related work as required.

- Five years of work experience, three years of which must have been in grounds maintenance or general maintenance and repair work.
- Substitutions
- (1) Satisfactory completion of high school, or possession of an equivalency diploma, may be substituted for two years of general work experience.(2) Satisfactory completion of a pertinent high school level vocational course may be substituted for one year of the specialized experience.(3) Satisfactory completion of a pertinent one or two year post-high school or trade school program may be substituted on a year for year basis for the specialized experience.(4) Satisfactory completion of 30 college credits may be substituted for one year of the specialized experience.
